A vendor with Countryside Farmers' Market since 2011.

Farmland: 129 acres

People: Doug and Noelle Woolf and our two sons Elijah (4) and Graham (2).

Products: Apples, strawberries, blueberries, peaches, cherries, sweet corn, plums, pears, concord grapes, asparagus.

Farm History: I was a teacher for 9 years and also have an MBA from Liberty University in VA. I am a third generation farmer. Morning DEW is a family farm that has been in production for over 60 years. I recently purchased the farm from my grandparents in hope that it will produce fruit for families in Northeast Ohio for another 60 years! My parents own Woolf Farms, where they also grow fruit.
The farm is currently in a phase of cutting down larger trees and replacing them with younger ones. More raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, peaches, asparagus and cherries have been planted to meet demand.

Soil: Wooster clay.

Water Use: Pray for rain.

Weed Control: We mow the orchards and weed eat around small trees. Strawberries and raspberries are hand weeded and we use mulch around blueberries.

Pest Control: I use Integrated Pest Management. This means we put out traps to watch for any pest problems. In fruit we use more fungicides than insecticides. I am not an organic grower, but I try to use the least amount of chemicals as possible. For apples, the last spray is applied 25-35 days before harvest.

Fun Fact: We have a pick your own operation for strawberries, so if you want to drive out to the country in June, we would love to have you experience picking your own berries!
