A vendor with Countryside Farmers' Market since 2006.

People: Brian Moran

Products: Fresh chèvre, Key Lime chèvre, Lemon chèvre, Tarragon-Orange chèvre, Herbs de Provence chèvre, Fromage Blanc, Blomma (bucheron), Croquis (Ash rind Blomma), Feta (goat milk), Wine-soaked Feta (seasonal), Black Pepper Feta (cow milk) and Lake Erie Pearls (Hand-rolled chèvre rounds in rosemary olive oil.)

History: When Lake Erie Creamery (LEC) was established in 2006 it became the first artisan cheese creamery in the state of Ohio. In 2013, the creamery came under the vision and direction of Brian Moran. Moran has been an entrepreneur for many years, previously the owner and operator of Kinetic Gardens - a fine gardening business on Cleveland’s west side. He trained under the former owners of LEC for two winter seasons to learn the craft of cheese making before taking the reins. As he looks to the future of LEC, Moran plans to expand the lines of existing cheeses by incorporating more cow milk products and by adding some epicurean enhancements to cheeses already in production.

Sourcing: Our goat milk comes from Cherry Lane Farms in Freedom Township (Portage County) and our cow milk from Grim Dairy Farms in New London, Ohio.

Methods: Our cheese are all made by hand in small batches to ensure quality and freshness.
