FarmLink: On Farm Volunteer Program

Cooking - FPOThe New England Small Farm Institute has identified four major obstacles facing beginning farmers as they work to start new farm businesses: access to land, capital, skills, and markets. The Countryside Conservancy On Farm Volunteer Program seeks to give new entrants to farming access to production skills. By listing available volunteer opportunities, beginning farmers have a chance to ‘get their hands dirty’ on area farms. The program also allows existing farmers to have extra help on the farm and pass on valuable farm production knowledge to the next generation of farmers.
