Speakers Bureau
The Countryside Conservancy is continually asked to make presentations to community groups and organizations about the importance of local food and farming. We are happy to do this for citizens of the Northeast Ohio region. We request a $50 donation to offset the cost of our time and travel.
Our grant support covers activities that take place in a specific region. If your organization is located outside of Northeast Ohio we would be honored to speak at your event. We simply require a $50 per hour speaker fee (there is a one hour minimum) and that your organization cover expenses associated with our travel.
Some presentations available:
"Don't Buy Food From Strangers" - This is an hour long presentation that discusses the "how to's" of supporting local farming and food entrepreneurs and the impacts to the economics of a community.
"Planning and Zoning for Agriculture" - This is an 1.5 hour presentation and is geared toward township officials and citizens. This presentation explains why land use planning is essential, how planning and zoning can both discourage and encourage agriculture, and leaves the township with easy steps to incorporate agriculture into their plan and zoning text.
"Countryside Conservancy 20 in 20" - This is a half hour presentation that explains the in's and out's of Countryside Conservancy as an organization. It is a short and accurate presentation, perfect for panel discussions.
We have many more presentations!
