Countryside Farmers’ Market at Howe Meadow is delighted to present Picnic in the Park on June 18th! In celebration of the National Park Service Centennial, and in conjunction with International Picnic Day, Countryside is offering a limited number of special picnic lunches. Picnics are designed to serve two and include three dishes, as well as vouchers for picnickers to select desserts and beverages from participating market vendors. Ingredients for the picnic dishes will be sourced from Howe Meadow market vendors and crafted by local chefs with a demonstrated commitment to local sourcing and seasonal preparation. Two dishes will be prepared by Chef Doug Katz, of fire food and drink, Provenance and Katz Club Diner fame, and the third dish will be prepared by Chef Ernie Cornelius, Executive Chef at d.b.a.
Interested parties can purchase their lunches and swag at: squareup.com/store/countrysideconservancy. Pick up for picnic lunches will be available at Countryside Farmers’ Market at Howe Meadow during market hours, 9am to noon.
To add to the fun on Picnic Day, Countryside Farmers’ Market at Howe Meadow is excited to host a pop-up Crafty Mart. We will have 12 maker vendors, curated by Crafty Mart joining us! Confirmed vendors include: The BusyBeehive, Vile Femme, Sticks and Stones, Lucas Clay Studio, Ever Iris Designs, and Buckeye Clothing Company.
Picnic lovers need not fret if they can’t participate on June 18th. Countryside will be hosting a second Picnic in the Park on August 20th. Picnic dishes will again be sourced from market vendors and have a seasonal focus. Chefs Doug Katz and Ernie Cornelius will be preparing dishes again, as will Chef Ben Bebenroth of Spice Kitchen & Bar, Spice of Life Catering Co. and Countryside Initiative farm, Spice Acres.
