Exploring the Small Farm Dream: Is Starting an Agricultural Business Right for You? The goal of this 4 class series is to help those thinking about small-scale
commercial farming learn what it will take to start and manage a farm business, and to decide if that is something they want to do.
Originally developed by New England Small Farm Institute, Exploring the Small Farm Dream is specially designed for anyone who has wondered what it would be like to start a small farm or other agricultural business. This may include people thinking about changing careers to start a farm, taking over an existing family farm business, farming part-time while continuing other employment, or developing an informal agricultural pastime into a more series business activity. This is not a farm business planning course, but a precursor to farm business planning, with the ultimate goal of helping participants answer the question, “Is starting an agricultural business right for me?”
Class dates are: Monday March 28th; Monday April 4; Monday April 11, and Thursday April 14. Class runs between 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Location is at Countryside's office at 2179 Everett Road, Peninsula, 44264.
This session is full. Please stay tuned for next offering this Fall. Thank you!
