Chix Coffee Cupping

Date: 12-Mar-2015
Capacity: 25 (24% booked)

Details

Countryside Chix events are percolating again!  Join us for a deep dive into coffee with Erin Molnar, manager of Rising Star Coffee.  Erin will explain why coffee deserves attention as an agricultural crop, and discuss its origins, growing, and harvesting.  You'll learn how to make it work for you - what to buy, how to store it, and how to brew the perfect cup in your home.  And of course, we'll drink it!  Erin will walk us through a guided tasting where we'll learn to tease out the distinctive flavors, just as you would with a fine wine.  We'll also explore coffee's other culinary uses with a sample of Market Garden Brewery's coffee porter.

**Sorry guys...Countryside Chix events are ladies-only evenings out!**

Erin Molnar manages the Rising Star Coffee cafe in Hingetown.  She has worked in coffee for over 15 years.  During that time, her initial love of coffee combined with her love for agriculture and farmers to deepen her passion and understanding and to relate to coffee as an agricultural crop - a food - that deserved the same consideration and appreciation as a quality steak or fine wine.
