Countryside Farmers' Markets - Cooking Classes
Want to learn how to use all of the great products from the market? These classes are designed just for you! Grab your apron and learn from a pro! Junior chefs ages 7–12 will begin to cultivate their culinary skills using the wealth of products available through the Countryside Farmers’ Market at Howe Meadow. Adults, too, have the opportunity to learn new skills or bolster their culinary repertoire utilizing the freshest products from local farms.
Each class is taught by a local food professional or enthusiast. Participants will learn about nutrition, experience the seasonality
of foods, meet local farmers and artisans and gain hands-on cooking skills. Classes include a guided trek through the market with the chef, hands-on instruction, sharing of your creations with one another and a recipe to take home to share with family and friends.
Items prepared during previous sessions include: bison sliders, popcorn, roasted potatoes, salsa, cheesy pasta, zucchini boats, pickles, canned tomatoes and more! Past instructors include Audra Arnold, Dante Boccuzzi, John Donat, Nika Franchi, Tamara Mitchell, Jonathon Sawyer and Carla Snyder.
Classes are limited to 10 students each. No cooking experience necessary – just come have fun with local food!
