SUBJ: Request for Proposals (RFP)
The Request for Proposals (RFP) package for leasing farm properties in Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) is now available. We appreciate your interest, and wish you every success in preparing a proposal.
Completed proposals are due to CVNP Headquarters by 3:00 PM, Wednesday, August 31, 2005 (see page 18 of the RFP for submission details). Proposals received after this deadline will not be considered.
We will evaluate all proposals, and select and notify finalists by Friday, September 30, 2005. Interviews with finalists will be conducted in mid October, with a final determination of a selected lessee for each of the four properties in late October or early November. Those unsuccessful candidates, who wish, may schedule a meeting to discuss our evaluation of their proposal. It is anticipated that farm leases can be completed and signed by early December. We anticipate selected lessees will have access to their farms by year’s end.
Two tours of each farm described in this RFP will be conducted in July (see Schedule of Preproposal Farm Tours). These tours will provide an opportunity to see and discuss the properties that interest you. CVNP and Cuyahoga Valley Countryside Conservancy (CVCC) staff will conduct the tours. Supplemental information not included in the RFP (but useful for your proposal preparation) will be available for pick-up at any tour or available on this website (see page 19 of the RFP for a list of materials available).
Many of you have already had numerous conversations with CVCC staff members, Darwin Kelsey and Stephanie Webb. CVCC was created to help CVNP manage the Countryside Initiative and will serve as your primary contact for this RFP process. Should you need additional information or assistance, please contact Darwin at 330.657.2532 or Stephanie at 330.657.2542 or by email.
Once again, thank you for your interest. Good Luck!
